Acupuncture

For more than 5,000 years, acupuncturists have treated many diseases and dysfunctions of the body by inserting fine needles into the skin at specific points. The needles stimulate these acupuncture points to normalize physiological functions, modify and prevent the perception of pain, and encourage the body’s own healing abilities

Ear Candling

Ear Candling is primarily used for cleaning the ears and promoting a healthy atmosphere in the ears, sinus cavities & throat. The procedure consists of lighting one end of a hollow candle & placing the other end of the ear canal. The flame of the candle creates a draw or vacuum which pulls the wax and other particles of debris out of the ear and up into the bottom of the candle. The client feels a warm sensation during the procedure and is left with the deeply relaxed feeling and improved health. This service is also accompanied by a brief neck & scalp massage if so desired.

Hilot Filipino

A word from the Tagalog dialect meaning massage-rubbing or touch with soothing strokes. Touch is the modality of hilot. Initially, one might think this procedure is simply a massage, but hilot is more. It is energy manipulation. The hilot’s concept of health and disease is based on the balance of hot (init) and cold (lamig) / wind (hangin). When balanced, the body is well. An imbalance results in a blockage in the flow of energy within the body resulting in stress.  The hilot balances out the body and allows for energy to flow naturally.

Reiki

A Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by laying on hands and is based on the idea that an unseen life force energy or Chi flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one’s life force energy is low we are more likely to become ill or feel stressed. But if Chi is high we are more capable of being happy and healthy. A Reiki treatment feels like a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through and around you. Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit, creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security, and well being.

Shiatsu /
Acupressure

Systems of finger-pressure massage based on the Asian system of healing, which treats special points along meridians channels of energy flow (known as Qi or Chi) in the body. The underlying belief is that blocked meridians can cause physical discomfort and techniques applied to specific meridian points can release the blockage, thereby balancing energy flow. According to the theory of Chinese Medicine, Qi is not something mystical or mysterious – it is the energy in “I feel full of energy today!” In acupressure, light pressure is applied to specific points to help balance the body and the mind.

What Customers Are Saying

I have been seeing Joel for massages for many years. I tried many places before I was lucky enough to meet him. By far the most knowledgeable massage therapist around.

There are not enough stars on this. The only way I can describe it is… “THE… BEST… massage… EVER… yes!!… EVER!!!! Short, sweet, and straight to the point! Say goodbye pain, oh yeah one more thing,… EVER!

Joel gives the best massages. I live in a different state, but my mom got me a massage from Joel one year when we were home for Christmas, and now we try and go every time we are in town.
